Adam remained sad after the death of his son Habeel. He had witnessed death for the first time, and was heartbroken at a crime of this magnitude at the hands of his own son against a brother. He was very withdrawn and wept at his predicament. Allah gave him the gift of another son whom he named Sheeth. He succeeded him as a prophet and as a representative of Allah on Earth. He had several children and was the ancestor of the prophets mentioned in the Scriptures.
He is known as Seth in Torah.
